Privacy Policy

Zodian is built for one job — casting and reading Vedic charts. We collect the minimum needed to do that job, and this page explains all of it in plain language.

The short version: we store your Google email, the birth profiles you enter, and anonymised usage statistics. We never sell data, never show third-party ads, never track you across the web, and you can delete everything at any time.

1. What we collect

  • Account: when you sign in with Google we receive your email address and Google account ID. We use them only to identify your account. We never see your Google password.
  • Birth profiles: the names, birth dates, times and places you enter to cast charts. They are stored against your account and are visible only to you.
  • Mobile-app history: if you also use the Zodian mobile app with the same Google account, chart history you chose to sync there can be imported into your web workspace — only when you ask for it.
  • Support messages: what you write to us in Support, plus basic context (app version, platform, language) so we can help.
  • Usage data:anonymised events (for example “a chart was viewed”) and standard web analytics via Google Analytics with IP anonymisation. This tells us which features matter.
  • Server logs: short-lived technical logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) kept for security and debugging.

We do not collect: contacts, photos, microphone, precise device location, advertising identifiers, payment card numbers, or biometric data.

2. How we use your data

To make the product work — show you charts, timelines, matching and calendar screens — to answer your support requests, and to understand aggregate usage so we improve the right things. Nothing else. No profiling, no ad targeting, no data sales.

3. What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • We don’t show third-party ads or embed ad trackers.
  • We don’t fingerprint your device or participate in cross-site tracking.
  • We don’t use your birth data for anything except showing you your own results.

4. Cookies

We use one essential cookie (__session) to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect the product.

5. Service providers

A small number of providers process data on our behalf, under their own contractual safeguards:

ProviderPurposeData involved

We add to this table before any new provider touches personal data.

6. Where data lives

The team operates from Tamil Nadu, India. Service data is hosted with DigitalOcean; Google services may process data in their own regions (including the United States) under standard contractual safeguards. If you use Zodian from the EU/UK, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses; in India we follow the DPDP Act 2023.

9. Children

Zodian is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Your rights

Everyone: you can access, correct, export or delete your data — in the app, or by writing to us. We respond within 30 days, usually much faster.

  • EU / UK (GDPR): you additionally have the rights to restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to your local supervisory authority.
  • India (DPDP Act 2023): you may request a summary of your data, correction, erasure and grievance redressal; unresolved grievances may be escalated to the Data Protection Board of India.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals.

11. Deleting your data

  • Delete any birth profile yourself, any time, from the workspace.
  • Request full account deletion via the in-app Support tab or by email — completed within 30 days, confirmation sent when done.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update this page, note the new date above, and show a notice in the product. Non-material clarifications may be made without notice.
